César ITIER is a lecturer at INALCO (Institut des Langues et Civilisations Orientales) where he teaches Quechua language and history. He is a member of the CNRS’ Centre d’Etudes des Langues Indigènes d’Amérique where his research themes include the Quechua oral tradition, colonial and modern Quechua theater, philology of colonial Quechua texts, historical linguistics, and dialectology of Quechua language.

César Itier, a lecturer at INALCO and a researcher at the CELIA and CNRS, introduces us to the Andean language family called Quechua. He does so from an historical and linguistic perspective. He then speaks about the language’s use today. He also discusses a few outlooks for research on the Quechua oral tradition, namely concerning tales and Andean theater.
